What is Rackon?

Rackon is a secure messaging app built for people who take their privacy seriously. Every message you send is protected with end-to-end encryption, and unlike most mainstream apps, Rackon operates on a zero data collection policy — meaning your conversations, activity, and behavior are never tracked, stored, or sold.

Whether you're looking for a secure WhatsApp alternative, a private chat app for personal use, or an encrypted communication app for business, Rackon is designed to give you full control over your conversations without compromise.

How do I create a Rackon account?

Getting started takes less than two minutes. Download Rackon from the App Store, Google Play, or AppGallery, then open the app and enter your phone number or email address. You'll receive a verification code and enter it to confirm your identity. From there, you can add a display name if you'd like (it's optional), and you're ready to start messaging securely.

No lengthy forms, no personal details required beyond basic verification.

What if I forgot my password?

On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password." You'll be asked to verify your phone number or email address, after which you'll receive a reset code. Once verified, you can set a new password and get back into your account.

If the reset code doesn't arrive, check your spam folder or wait a couple of minutes before requesting another one.

Can I use Rackon on multiple devices?

At the moment, Rackon supports single-device use only. Your account is tied to one device at a time, which is actually an intentional security decision — limiting access to a single device reduces the risk of your encryption keys being exposed across multiple endpoints.

Multi-device support is planned for a future update.

Is Rackon completely anonymous?

Rackon offers strong privacy, but it isn't fully anonymous in the traditional sense. You'll need to verify your identity with either a phone number or an email address when signing up. That said, your display name can be anything you choose — your real name isn't required anywhere in the app.

If you're comparing Rackon to apps that require a full profile, social connections, or real identity verification, Rackon is significantly more private by design.

What happens if I lose my phone?

If your phone is lost or replaced, simply reinstall Rackon on your new device and log in using the same phone number or email you registered with. Your contacts will sync automatically. However, your chat history won't transfer — messages are stored locally on your device only and aren't backed up to any server, so previous conversations won't be recoverable on a new device.

What makes Rackon different from WhatsApp?

The differences come down to data practices and design philosophy. WhatsApp collects metadata, shares data with Meta, and serves targeted ads across its ecosystem. Rackon doesn't collect your data, doesn't track your activity or behavior, doesn't run ads, and uses zero-knowledge encryption — meaning even Rackon itself can't access your messages.

For anyone looking for a secure WhatsApp alternative that genuinely respects privacy, Rackon was built with that purpose in mind.

Is Rackon legal?

Yes, Rackon is fully legal. It's available on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery, and is accessible to users worldwide (with the exception of countries that restrict or block such services, such as China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and Cuba).

Using an encrypted messaging app is legal in the vast majority of countries. Rackon complies with applicable laws in the regions where it operates.

Do I need an email address for Rackon?

No, an email address isn't required. You can sign up and verify your account using just your phone number. Email is offered as an alternative verification option — useful if you'd prefer not to use your phone number or if you're looking for a messaging app with more flexible signup options.

Can I reactivate a deleted account?

No. When you delete your Rackon account, it's permanent and immediate — there's no grace period or recovery option. All account data is removed right away. If you want to use Rackon again after deleting your account, you'll need to create a new one from scratch.

Can minors use Rackon?

Users under the age of 18 require parental or guardian consent to use Rackon. If you're setting up the app for a minor, please ensure appropriate consent has been given before creating an account.

How do I add a profile picture?

Go to Settings, tap Profile, then select Add Photo. You can either choose an image from your gallery or take a new one with your camera. Your profile picture is optional and can be changed or removed at any time.

Can I remove my profile picture?

Yes. Head to Settings > Profile > Remove Photo. Your profile will revert to a default placeholder immediately.

How do I log out?

Go to Settings > Account > Log Out. You'll be signed out of the app on your current device.

Does logging out delete my messages?

No. Logging out simply signs you out of your session; it doesn't affect your messages. Since Rackon stores messages locally on your device, they'll still be there the next time you log back in.
