Yes, multi-device support is on the roadmap. It isn't available yet, but it's planned for a future update. When it becomes available, it will be implemented in a way that doesn't compromise Rackon's security architecture.

The decision is rooted in security. Supporting multiple devices means encryption keys would need to exist in more places, which increases the potential points of exposure. By keeping Rackon single-device for now, the encryption remains simpler and the attack surface stays smaller. Multi-device support will be introduced once it can be done without weakening the security model.

When you get a new phone, reinstall Rackon and log in with your existing phone number or email. Your contacts will sync automatically. Your previous chat history, however, won't carry over — messages are stored locally on your old device and don't sync to a server, so they can't be transferred.

Rackon doesn't offer cloud backup, by design — storing messages on external servers would conflict with the zero-knowledge privacy model. To preserve important messages, you can take screenshots or manually copy and save content to a notes app. If the app offers a manual export option, that's another route worth checking.

Yes. Since messages are stored only on your device, uninstalling the app removes them. There's no cloud backup to restore from. If there are conversations you want to keep, save them manually before uninstalling.

No. Messages don't sync between devices, so switching to a new phone means starting fresh. This is a deliberate trade-off in favor of privacy — messages never leave your device and can never be intercepted in transit or accessed from a server.

A few things can contribute to higher battery usage. Check whether background app refresh is enabled and consider disabling it if you don't need real-time background activity. Reducing notification frequency, switching to Wi-Fi instead of cellular, and clearing the app's cache can also help. If battery drain is significant, try restarting the app or reinstalling it.

Yes. The app is around 45–60 MB — notably smaller than most mainstream messaging apps. It's designed to be efficient on storage and system resources, which is useful if you're working with a device that has limited space.

The initial installation sits between 50–80 MB. From there, storage grows gradually with use of approximately 1 MB per 1,000 messages. For most users, storage growth over time is minimal.

Yes. Rackon is compatible with Android 6.0 and later, and iOS 12 and later. It also runs reasonably well on older devices with as little as 2 GB of RAM, so you don't need a recent flagship phone to use it.

Yes. Messages typically deliver in under a second, and the app itself loads in 1–2 seconds under normal conditions. Performance is optimized to stay responsive even on modest hardware.

Slowness usually comes down to one of a few things: a weak or unstable internet connection, low available storage on your device, too many apps running in the background, or a buildup of cached data. Try clearing the app cache, closing background apps, and checking your connection. A device restart often helps too.

No. BlackBerry OS has been discontinued, and Rackon doesn't support it. Rackon is available on iOS, Android, and Huawei devices.

Not yet. Desktop apps for Mac and Windows are planned for the future. Currently, Rackon is a mobile-only application available on iOS, Android, and Huawei devices.

Not at this time. Rackon is an app-only service and doesn't have a web interface. A browser-based version is being considered for the future.

Rackon works on most standard smartphones, including those with 4–5 inch screens. If your device runs a supported iOS or Android version, screen size generally won't be an issue.
